1. Job Purpose
The Clinical Psychologist will provide psychological assessment, counselling, psychotherapy, behavioural interventions, and rehabilitation support to patients, students, children with special needs, and their families. The psychologist will work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare and rehabilitation team. Psychological assessment, psychotherapy, psychoeducation, and rehabilitation are among the standard clinical psychology services in healthcare settings.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical interviews and psychological assessments of patients and clients.
- Administer and interpret appropriate psychological, behavioural, cognitive, developmental, and personality assessments.
- Prepare psychological assessment reports and maintain proper clinical records.
- Provide individual, family, and group counselling as required.
- Provide evidence-based psychotherapy and behavioural interventions.
- Identify emotional, behavioural, developmental, cognitive, and psychosocial difficulties.
- Develop individualized psychological intervention plans based on assessment findings.
- Provide psychoeducation to patients, parents, caregivers, and families.
- Support children with special needs in managing behavioural, emotional, social, and developmental difficulties.
- Work closely with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, special educators, doctors, social workers, and other professionals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning.
- Monitor patient progress and modify intervention plans when required.
- Provide counselling and support for stress, anxiety, adjustment difficulties, behavioural problems, and other psychological concerns.
- Assist patients and families in coping with disability, illness, rehabilitation, and lifestyle changes.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow professional and ethical standards.
- Make appropriate referrals to psychiatrists, neurologists, physicians, or other specialists when required.
- Conduct awareness programmes, workshops, and mental-health education sessions.
- Participate in community outreach, rehabilitation programmes, and preventive mental-health activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, counselling sessions, treatment plans, and progress reports.
- Contribute to research, training, and academic activities of the Institute where applicable.
3. Responsibilities for Special Children
If the Institute provides services to children with special needs, the Clinical Psychologist will additionally:
- Conduct developmental and behavioural assessments.
- Identify emotional, social, cognitive, and behavioural concerns.
- Prepare individualized intervention plans.
- Provide behaviour modification and counselling.
- Guide parents and caregivers regarding home-based interventions.
- Coordinate with special educators and therapists.
- Monitor developmental and behavioural progress.
- Conduct parent counselling and psychoeducation.
- Support children's social skills, emotional regulation, confidence, and adaptive functioning.
4. Qualification
Essential:
- Master's degree in Clinical Psychology / relevant professional qualification in Clinical Psychology from a recognized institution.
- Appropriate RCI-recognized qualification and valid RCI registration, where required for the position and scope of practice. Clinical Psychologists are among the professional categories maintained under the Central Rehabilitation Register.
Desirable:
- M.Phil / M.Psy / Psy.D / M.Clin.Psy or equivalent RCI-recognized professional qualification.
- Experience in hospitals, rehabilitation centres, mental-health facilities, or special-needs settings.
- Experience in psychological assessment and psychotherapy.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
