JOB DESCRIPTION: Senior Accountant – Accounts, Taxation & Compliance

About the Role
HIIMPAY Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced and responsible Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, taxation, statutory compliance, reconciliations, financial reporting and coordination with our Chartered Accountant and auditors.
The ideal candidate should be capable of independently managing the company's accounting function, maintaining accurate books of accounts and ensuring timely compliance with GST, TDS and other applicable statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Manage day-to-day accounting transactions and maintain complete books of accounts.
- Record sales, purchases, receipts, payments, expenses, journals and other accounting entries.
- Maintain General Ledger, Cash Book, Purchase Register and Sales Register.
- Ensure proper accounting and documentation of all financial transactions.
- Assist in monthly, quarterly and year-end closing.
2. GST & Taxation
- Prepare and manage GST data and returns including GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B.
- Conduct regular GST reconciliation and ITC reconciliation, including reconciliation with GSTR-2B.
- Ensure correct GST treatment on sales, purchases, expenses, credit notes and other transactions.
- Handle TDS calculation, deduction, payment and return filing.
- Maintain TDS records and reconcile TDS ledgers/challans.
- Coordinate with the CA for Income Tax, GST, TDS and other tax-related requirements.
- Track statutory due dates and ensure timely compliance.
3. Bank & Ledger Reconciliation
- Prepare regular Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS).
- Reconcile customer, vendor and other ledger accounts.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounting records.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and payables.
4. Accounts Receivable & Payable
- Manage customer billing and receivables.
- Track outstanding payments and coordinate for timely collections.
- Verify vendor invoices and supporting documents.
- Maintain vendor accounts and payment schedules.
- Ensure payments are properly recorded and reconciled.
5. Financial Reporting & MIS
- Prepare monthly MIS reports for management.
- Prepare Trial Balance, Profit & Loss Account and Balance Sheet schedules.
- Provide management with information on receivables, payables, expenses and cash flow.
- Assist management with financial analysis and reporting.
6. Audit & Compliance
- Coordinate with Chartered Accountants and statutory/internal auditors.
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documents.
- Ensure books and records remain audit-ready.
- Assist during GST, Income Tax and statutory audits.
- Maintain proper documentation of all statutory and financial records.
7. Internal Controls
- Verify invoices, vouchers, payment requests and supporting documents.
- Ensure proper approval and documentation processes are followed.
- Identify accounting discrepancies, control gaps and potential compliance issues.
- Help improve accounting processes and reduce manual errors.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Accounting, GST, TDS and Indian taxation.
- Hands-on experience with Tally Prime / ERP accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and reconciliation techniques.
- Experience in Bank Reconciliation and Ledger Scrutiny.
- Strong understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Ability to independently manage statutory compliance timelines.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
Qualification
- B.Com / M.Com / MBA – Finance preferred.
- CA Inter / CMA Inter will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with strong practical accounting and taxation experience will also be considered.
Preferred Experience
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in accounting and taxation.
- Experience in a Fintech / Financial Services / Payments / E-commerce / Corporate environment will be preferred.
- Experience dealing with high-volume transactions, reconciliations and payment settlements will be an advantage.
Key Performance Expectations
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts.
- Ensure 100% timely statutory compliance.
- Maintain clean bank, customer and vendor reconciliations.
- Ensure timely closure of monthly accounts.
- Provide accurate and timely MIS to management.
- Minimise accounting errors and unresolved discrepancies.
- Maintain complete audit-ready documentation.
- Independently coordinate with the CA, auditors, banks, vendors and customers.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is hands-on, responsible and capable of owning the entire accounting function, rather than someone who only performs data-entry/accounting tasks.
The candidate should have strong practical knowledge, be comfortable working with numbers and reconciliations, and be able to identify issues before they become financial or compliance problems.
Pay: ₹16,675.96 - ₹30,000.00 per month
