Job description:
Job Summary:
Responsible for supporting procurement activities including sourcing, vendor coordination, purchase order processing, and ensuring timely availability of materials as per production requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in sourcing and procurement of raw materials, consumables, and services
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) as per requirement
- Follow up with vendors for timely delivery of materials
- Maintain and update vendor database
- Compare quotations and support in price negotiation
- Ensure material quality and specifications as per requirement
- Coordinate with stores, production, and quality departments
- Track order status and update internal stakeholders
- Maintain proper documentation of purchase records
- Monitor inventory levels and support in planning material requirements
- Handle local vendor development activities
Required Skills:
- Basic knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes
- Understanding of engineering materials (steel, fabrication items, consumables, etc.)
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Qualification:
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering
Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in purchase
Preferred Industry:
- Heavy fabrication / manufacturing / engineering industry
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of vendor handling and local market sourcing
- Basic understanding of technical drawings (added advantage)
