We are looking for a Finance Lead / Manager who brings senior-level ownership to our finance function. We need someone who can independently own the books, build financial controls and reporting systems, manage multi-stream revenue and compliance, and serve as a strategic finance partner to leadership.
You will be working directly with the leadership and operations teams - with full visibility into business decisions, project-level P&L, and cross-vertical financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Financial Control
Own end-to-end accounting across all revenue streams
Maintain audit-ready books with clean GL, monthly closures, and fully reconciled ledgers
Build and enforce internal financial controls suited to a scaling multi-vertical business
2. Reporting & MIS
Prepare monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements with variance analysis
Deliver MIS reports to leadership with actionable insights
Support reporting, including client receivables tracking, project-level profitability, and vertical-wise contribution margins
3. Compliance & Taxation
Manage GST, TDS, advance tax, and corporate tax filings end-to-end, working with external CA/consultants where required
Handle payroll taxation, PF/ESI compliance, and statutory deductions as the team scales
Liaise independently with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities
4. Cash Flow & Working Capital
Manage AR/AP - collections from consulting clients, summit participants, vendor payments, and ageing analysis
Build and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts across project cycles and event-based revenue
Proactively flag working capital risks and propose mitigation strategies to leadership
5. Process Building & Systems
Set up and strengthen accounting workflows on Zoho Books- chart of accounts, invoicing, expense approvals
Define and document finance SOPs for a growing team
Coordinate with operations, sales, and HR on budgeting, cost approvals, and headcount cost modelling
Key Requirements
Experience & Education
6 to 10 years of hands-on experience in accounting and finance, with at least 2–3 years in a lead or near-independent finance role
Prior experience in startups, SMEs, consulting firms, or growth-stage companies- someone who has owned a finance function, not just executed within one
CA Inter / MBA (Finance) / M.Com with strong demonstrated experience
Exposure to project-based billing, multi-entity or multi-vertical accounting, or service-sector finance is a strong plus
Skills & Competencies
Strong working knowledge of Indian tax law - GST, TDS, corporate tax, payroll compliance, PF/ESI
Solid grasp of financial statements; ability to build, read, and present MIS meaningfully to founders and partners
Proficient in Zoho Books and/or Tally; strong Excel skills (financial models, pivots, scenario analysis)
Familiarity with payroll systems, banking platforms, and statutory compliance portals
High ownership mindset — flags issues, resolves them, and does not wait to be asked
Proactive, deadline-driven, and process-oriented with clear communication skills when working with founders, auditors, and consultants
Goa-based or willing to relocate to Goa (on-site presence is required)
