Master Control Room (MCR) TV Assistant /Operator supports the broadcast operations team. They help monitor on-air signals, ensure programs and commercials air correctly, and assist in maintaining technical quality control, troubleshooting signal issues, and updating transmission logs.
Core Responsibilities
Signal Monitoring: Oversee incoming and outgoing video and audio feeds to ensure broadcast quality. Playout & Ingest: Assist in operating automation systems, ingesting media, and preparing content (commercials, promos, shows) for air.
Logging & Documentation: Maintain and schedule accurate transmitter logs, discrepancy reports, and program logs. Troubleshooting: Identify technical faults (e.g., dead air, audio drops, video artifacts) and report Cross-Team Coordination: Liaise with the Production Control Room (PCR), traffic departments, and remote field crews to ensure seamless broadcast delivery. Key Requirements & Skills Technical Aptitude: An understanding of broadcast signal flow, transmission equipment, server maintenance, networking (IP) and automation software. Education and Experience: Diploma is often the minimum, but degrees or certifications in Broadcasting, Communications, or Electronic Engineering are preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the broadcast field. Attention to Detail: The ability to notice minute discrepancies and format mismatches. Work Under Pressure: Ability to remain calm and troubleshoot quickly, especially during live TV events and breaking news. Flexibility: MCRs often operate 24/7; assistants must be prepared to work shifts, weekends, and holidays. Software: Must understand ADOBE SUIT (PREMIERE PRO ETC for Editing videos).
Pay: ₹95,000.00 - ₹114,000.00 per hour
