Job Summary
Kalinga Trade & Travel Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced Fleet Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of its bus fleet. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in transport operations, fleet management, driver management, vehicle maintenance, and passenger safety while ensuring maximum fleet availability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily bus operations and route schedules.
- Prepare and manage driver and staff shift rosters to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Recruit, onboard, and maintain a strong network of qualified heavy vehicle (HMV) drivers.
- Ensure compliance with all transport regulations, road safety standards, and company policies.
- Monitor vehicle health and implement preventive maintenance schedules to maximize fleet uptime.
- Minimize vehicle breakdowns through effective maintenance planning and timely repairs.
- Coordinate with workshops and service teams for routine servicing and emergency breakdown support.
- Ensure driver discipline, attendance, training, and safety compliance.
- Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle utilization, mileage, and operating costs.
- Maintain operational records, statutory documents, permits, insurance, and fitness certificates.
- Investigate operational issues and implement corrective actions to improve fleet performance.
- Coordinate with internal departments and clients to ensure smooth transport operations.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of bus fleet operations and passenger transport management.
- Experience in fleet scheduling, route planning, and manpower deployment.
- Good network for hiring experienced heavy vehicle (HMV) drivers.
- Sound knowledge of preventive maintenance and vehicle breakdown management.
- Familiarity with transport laws, permits, insurance, and statutory compliance.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and transport/fleet management software.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- 5–10 years of experience in bus transportation or fleet operations.
- Mechanical or Automobile Engineering background preferred.
- Proven experience in managing large fleets and transport teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations.
