Job Summary
The Assistant IT Manager is responsible for managing and supporting the organization's IT infrastructure, network systems, servers, hardware, software applications, cybersecurity, and AI-enabled technologies. The role ensures smooth day-to-day IT operations, provides technical support to employees, manages IT projects, and assists in implementing innovative technology solutions that improve business efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure & Network Management
- Manage and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, firewalls, routers, switches, and network security.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Ensure maximum uptime of IT infrastructure and critical business systems.
- Coordinate with ISPs and external vendors for network-related services.
Server & System Administration
- Manage Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File Servers, and Email Servers.
- Perform server monitoring, patch management, upgrades, and performance optimization.
- Manage data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
- Administer cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS.
Hardware & Software Support
- Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, biometric devices, and other IT equipment.
- Install, configure, and maintain software applications and operating systems.
- Manage software licenses and IT asset inventory.
- Provide end-user support and technical assistance.
AI & Digital Transformation
- Implement and support AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, AI automation platforms, and AI-powered business applications.
- Train employees on AI tools to improve productivity.
- Identify opportunities for automation using AI and workflow technologies.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend suitable business solutions.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Monitor cybersecurity threats and implement preventive measures.
- Manage antivirus, endpoint security, access controls, and firewall policies.
- Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Ensure compliance with company IT policies and data protection requirements.
IT Operations & Project Management
- Lead IT projects including system upgrades, software implementation, cloud migration, and infrastructure enhancement.
- Prepare IT documentation, SOPs, reports, and user manuals.
- Manage IT budgets, procurement, vendor contracts, and AMC agreements.
- Coordinate with all departments to understand and fulfill IT requirements.
Team Management
- Supervise IT support staff and vendors.
- Allocate tasks and monitor performance.
- Conduct technical training and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Ensure timely resolution of IT service requests.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in IT Infrastructure, Network Administration, and Technical Support.
- Experience in corporate office IT operations preferred.
