We are looking for an active, trustworthy, and organized Accountant & Sales Manager to take charge of our Palakarai office operations. This is a unique hybrid role that combines financial bookkeeping with retail customer handling and sales.
Key Responsibilities (Dual-Role Operations):
1. Accounts & GST Compliance (Tally Prime):
- Manage complete day-to-day bookkeeping, including sales invoices, purchase entries, bank receipts, and payments in Tally Prime.
- Perform accurate monthly GST filings (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) and reconcile purchase registers against GSTR-2B to optimize Input Tax Credits.
- Prepare and manage TDS filings, e-Way bills, bank reconciliations, and verify all supplier bills.
- Assist in internal auditing, final balance sheet preparation, and coordinate with the company's Chartered Accountant.
2. Inventory Reconciliation & Stock Correction:
- Actively audit the physical inventory of TMT bars, steel plates, cement grills, concrete jalis, and cement bags across our office and yard.
- Balance physical stock counts against Tally Prime records to identify and correct any variances immediately.
- Maintain highly accurate real-time inventory ledgers to ensure we are never over-selling or running short on stock.
3. Customer Handling & B2B Sales:
- Greet and assist walk-in customers (builders, civil contractors, and homeowners) and handle phone inquiries professionally.
- Understand client building requirements and provide on-the-spot customized price quotations for wholesale or retail orders.
- Monitor aging accounts receivable, follow up with clients on credit limits, and coordinate timely payments and debt collection.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Education: B.Com, M.Com, or MBA in Finance is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3 to 6 years of experience in accounting, tax filing, and retail/wholesale sales. Prior experience in the steel, cement, hardware, or building materials trading sector is a strong advantage.
- Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in Tally Prime and MS Excel (including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data formatting).
- Compliance Knowledge: Clear, practical understanding of GST rules, TDS, e-Way bills, and financial ledger auditing.
- Languages: Must be fluent in Tamil (for customer handling and local vendor communication) with basic working knowledge of English (for official documentation, email, and billing).
