Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled AutoCAD Operator to prepare, update, and maintain accurate engineering drawings for City Gas Distribution (CGD) pipeline projects. The candidate will be responsible for creating GIS maps, As-Built Drawings (ABD), and As-Gas Drawings (AGD) in accordance with project specifications and client standards. The role requires close coordination with survey teams, site engineers, and project managers to ensure all drawings reflect actual site conditions.
Key ResponsibilitiesAutoCAD Drafting
- Prepare and modify 2D AutoCAD drawings for MDPE, Steel, and GI gas pipeline networks.
- Develop and update pipeline layouts, route maps, valve locations, regulator stations, and customer connection drawings.
- Maintain drawing revisions as per project requirements.
GIS Mapping
- Prepare GIS-based pipeline maps using survey coordinates.
- Plot gas pipeline alignments, customer locations, valves, regulators, and utility crossings.
- Update GIS data based on field survey information.
- Coordinate with survey teams for accurate mapping.
As-Built Drawings (ABD)
- Prepare As-Built Drawings after project completion.
- Incorporate actual field measurements and installation changes.
- Ensure all deviations from approved drawings are accurately reflected.
- Submit final ABDs in client-prescribed formats.
As-Gas Drawings (AGD)
- Prepare AGD drawings after commissioning of gas pipeline networks.
- Update pipeline details, service lines, meter locations, and customer information.
- Ensure AGD documentation complies with CGD company standards.
Documentation & Records
- Maintain drawing registers and revision history.
- Organize project drawing folders systematically.
- Prepare PDF and CAD submissions.
- Archive completed project drawings.
Coordination
- Coordinate with Site Engineers, Project Managers, Surveyors, and QA/QC teams.
- Resolve drawing discrepancies based on site feedback.
- Attend project review meetings whenever required.
Required Skills
- Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD (2D).
- Understanding of City Gas Distribution (CGD) pipeline systems.
- Experience in GIS mapping.
- Ability to prepare ABD and AGD drawings.
- Good knowledge of pipeline symbols, layers, scales, and engineering standards.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under deadlines.

Qualification
- Diploma / ITI / Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Surveying, or a related Engineering field.
- AutoCAD Certification preferred.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in Gas Pipeline / City Gas Distribution (CGD) projects.
- Experience working on GIS, ABD, AGD, and utility mapping is preferred.
