Job Summary
Kargeen Restaurant is looking for an experienced and skilled Senior Chef de Partie (Senior CDP) to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate should have strong culinary knowledge, excellent section-management skills, and the ability to lead junior kitchen staff while maintaining consistent food quality, hygiene, and service standards.
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the smooth operation of the assigned kitchen section.
- Prepare and cook food according to restaurant recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Supervise and guide Commis Chefs and junior kitchen staff.
- Ensure proper mise en place is completed before every service.
- Coordinate with the Sous Chef and other kitchen sections during service.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients.
- Control food wastage and maintain portion standards.
- Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
- Assist with stock checking and communicate ingredient requirements.
- Train junior staff in preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen procedures.
- Maintain efficient service during busy periods.
- Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef with daily kitchen operations.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional kitchen experience.
- Previous experience as a Senior CDP, CDP, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Experience in Indian, Kerala, or multi-cuisine kitchens is an advantage.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Excellent understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene.
- Ability to manage a section independently.
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume restaurant.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays.
