We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager – Projects & Operations with a strong Mechanical Engineering background. The candidate will be responsible for supporting and managing project execution, site operations, manpower, materials, installation activities, client coordination, and ensuring projects are completed within the required timeline, quality standards, and budget.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor mechanical projects from execution to final completion.
- Support the Project Manager in managing daily project and operational activities.
- Prepare project schedules, work plans, progress reports, and resource requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Supervise mechanical installation, fabrication, assembly, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
- Monitor site manpower and ensure optimum utilization of available resources.
- Ensure required materials, tools, equipment, and manpower are available as per project schedules.
- Track project progress and identify delays, risks, and operational issues.
- Take necessary action and provide solutions to ensure timely project completion.
- Ensure all work is carried out according to approved drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and monitor work quality and productivity.
- Coordinate with the Purchase and Stores departments for timely material availability.
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.
- Monitor project costs and support management in controlling unnecessary expenses.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and site safety requirements.
- Coordinate with Electrical, Automation, Civil, and other departments wherever required.
- Attend client meetings and provide project updates when required.
- Manage project documentation, including drawings, work reports, material records, and handover documents.
- Support project commissioning, testing, final inspection, and handover activities.
- Lead and guide engineers, technicians, supervisors, and site workers.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical Engineering and project execution.
- Experience in mechanical installation, fabrication, assembly, and site operations.
- Good project planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and site activities simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office is preferred.
- Good knowledge of material planning and manpower management.
- Ability to handle vendors, subcontractors, and client coordination.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict project deadlines.
- Willingness to travel and work at project sites as required.
Preferred Experience
- 5–6 years of experience in Mechanical Projects and Operations.
- Experience in Industrial Automation, Manufacturing, Installation, Fabrication, Machinery, or Engineering Projects will be preferred.
- Experience in handling project teams, site execution, and client coordination is an advantage.
Salary
Salary: As per Experience and Company Standards
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
