Position Overview
The Purchasing General Manager will lead the company’s procurement strategy, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and quality sourcing of materials, components, and capital equipment. The role requires strong negotiation skills, supplier management, and alignment with production, quality, and cost objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement Management
Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with business objectives
Identify and qualify domestic and global suppliers
Negotiate long-term supply agreements and commercial terms
Monitor market trends, currency fluctuations, and raw material pricing
Supplier Relationship & Performance Management
Build strong supplier partnerships
Monitor supplier KPIs (OTIF, PPM, cost competitiveness)
Resolve supply, quality, and delivery issues
Drive supplier development and capability improvement
Operational Excellence
Oversee day-to-day procurement operations
Coordinate with production, engineering, and quality teams
Optimize ERP utilization and inventory levels
Ensure compliance with company and industry standards
Cost & Budget Management
Manage annual purchasing budget
Conduct cost analysis and value engineering initiatives
Track cost savings and procurement performance
Monitor market price trends
Leadership & Team Development
Lead and mentor procurement team
Define departmental KPIs and performance targets
Drive continuous improvement and ethical sourcing practices
