A Fitter is responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery, mechanical equipment, and structural metal components. They interpret technical blueprints, use precision tools to cut, shape, and fit parts, and perform welding or maintenance tasks to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Assembly and Installation: Assembling and installing mechanical components, machinery, and structural parts according to blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
- Maintenance and Repair: Performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing malfunctioning machinery, including replacing defective or broken parts.
- Fabrication and Fitting: Cutting, threading, bending, and shaping metal components using tools like grinders, saws, and drills.
- Technical Interpretation: Reading and interpreting engineering drawings,, layouts, and, technical diagrams to determine, project specifications.
- Safety Compliance: Adhering to all health and safety regulations and maintaining a clean work area.
- Precision Measurement: Using measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to verify, the, accuracy of components.
- Welding and Joining: Using welding equipment (TIG/MIG/Arc) to fuse, metal parts, as required.
Core Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of engineering science and technology.
