Role Overview:
The Lead Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for leading the mechanical design function, delivering high-quality machine/SPM designs, and mentoring a team of design engineers. The role involves end-to-end ownership of mechanical design projects—from concept to commissioning—while ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and timeline requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design activities for machines, SPMs, and automation equipment.
- Translate customer specifications into concept designs, layouts, and detailed drawings.
- Review and approve 3D models, 2D drawings, GD&T, and BOMs.
- Perform and validate design calculations, material selection, and tolerance analysis.
- Ensure designs are DFM/DFA compliant and optimized for cost and manufacturability.
- Coordinate with electrical, software, production, and application teams.
- Guide and mentor junior mechanical design engineers.
- Support FAT/SAT, troubleshooting, and design changes during execution.
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards, safety norms, and documentation practices.
- Participate in technical discussions with customers and internal stakeholders.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong expertise in machine design, SPMs, and industrial automation systems.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks / Creo / Solid Edge and AutoCAD.
- Excellent knowledge of GD&T, fabrication, and machining processes.
- Hands-on experience with BOM management (SAP/ERP).
- Exposure to FEA and structural validation is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, review, and mentoring capabilities.
- Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
Qualifications:
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 8–12 years of experience in mechanical design within machine manufacturing / SPM industry.
- Minimum 2–4 years in a lead or senior design role preferred.
Pay: ₹1,200,000.00 - ₹1,400,000.00 per year
