Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Engineer with a strong background in shipyard infrastructure and industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, supervising, and executing civil works related to shipyard development while ensuring quality, safety, and timely project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and supervise civil construction activities within the shipyard.
- Monitor construction of workshops, dry docks, slipways, jetties, berths, warehouses, administrative buildings, and utility infrastructure.
- Coordinate with project managers, consultants, contractors, architects, and government authorities.
- Review construction drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and project schedules.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, project specifications, and applicable regulations.
- Supervise contractors and subcontractors to ensure work quality and adherence to project timelines.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor progress against project milestones.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Verify contractor bills and measurements.
- Ensure proper utilization of manpower, machinery, and construction materials.
- Identify construction risks and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Marine Engineering teams for integrated project execution.
- Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards and company safety policies.
- Maintain project documentation, drawings, inspection reports, and quality records.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech).
- Registration with the appropriate engineering council is an added advantage.
Experience
- 3-10 years of experience in civil construction.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in shipyard, port, marine, offshore, heavy engineering, or industrial infrastructure projects.
- Experience in EPC projects will be preferred.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of RCC, structural steel, foundations, marine structures, and industrial construction.
- Familiarity with dry dock, jetty, berth, and marine infrastructure construction.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Project.
- Working knowledge of Primavera P6 is desirable.
- Good knowledge of QA/QC procedures.
- Knowledge of HSE standards and construction safety practices.
