We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer specializing in the Laravel framework to join our engineering team on-site in Kerala. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain the central nervous system for complex, large-scale commercial platforms, including a multi-tenant SaaS application and an on-demand service marketplace engine.
You will work closely with our development team, taking full ownership of the database architecture, security layers, and high-performance JSON API endpoints. Core Responsibilities:
- API-First Engineering: Architect, build, and secure bulletproof RESTful API JSON endpoints to feed our applications.
- Database Architecture: Design relational database schemas using Laravel Migrations and write high-performance queries using Eloquent ORM.
- Data Isolation: Implement strict multi-tenancy rules to ensure complete database security and data isolation between paying SaaS subscribers.
- Real-Time Processing: Develop event-driven backend systems to handle instant notifications and live tracking pipelines.
- Asynchronous Workflows: Configure background worker engines and queues to handle heavy system calculations, reporting, and automated alerts outside the main HTTP thread.
- Team Collaboration: Maintain clean API documentation contracts to ensure seamless code integration with the frontend mobile developer.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: Junior and Mid level of professional backend software development experience using Modern PHP (8.2+).
- Framework Mastery: Deep, hands-on knowledge of Laravel 10/11 architecture (Service Containers, Providers, Middleware, and Request Validation).
- Database Expertise: Strong proficiency in MySQL or PostgreSQL. Must understand database tuning, relational mapping, and the explicit implementation of Foreign Key Indexes for optimization.
- Mobile Authentication: Proven experience implementing secure, token-based mobile app authentication layers natively (e.g., Laravel Sanctum or Passport).
- JSON Data Formatting: Mastery of shaping API responses securely using Laravel API Resources to prevent raw database exposure.
- Version Control: Fluency in Git, GitHub workflows, and branch management.
Preferred Skills (Good to Have):
- Automated Dashboards: Experience with administrative dashboard generators like Filament PHP or Laravel Nova to accelerate internal tooling development.
- Real-Time Infrastructure: Familiarity with WebSockets, specifically native event broadcasting via Laravel Reverb, Swoole, or Pusher.
- Advanced Performance layers: Experience running in-memory application wrappers like Laravel Octane or FrankenPHP.
- Queue Systems: Familiarity with Redis and monitoring tools like Laravel Horizon for managing background job processing loops.
