Job Summary
We are looking for skilled Pipe Fitters to join our shipbuilding and ship repair team. The candidate will be responsible for the fabrication, fit-up, installation, modification, and repair of piping systems onboard vessels and within the shipyard. The role requires good knowledge of marine piping drawings, accurate pipe alignment, and safe working practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret piping isometric drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings, and fabrication drawings.
- Measure, mark, cut, bevel, bend, and fit pipes as per specifications.
- Carry out pipe fit-up, alignment, tack fitting, and flange installation.
- Install pipes, valves, flanges, elbows, reducers, supports, clamps, and other fittings.
- Prepare pipe joints for welding and coordinate with welders.
- Carry out piping installation onboard ships, in workshops, and during ship repair projects.
- Perform pipe modification, replacement, dismantling, and repair work.
- Prepare piping systems for hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing.
- Assist with flushing, inspection, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, cutting equipment, measuring instruments, and pipe-fitting tools safely.
- Ensure proper alignment, dimensions, clearances, and slope as per drawings.
- Coordinate with welders, fabricators, supervisors, QA/QC personnel, and other trades.
- Follow all shipyard safety procedures, PPE requirements, and quality standards.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean and organized work area.
Eligibility & Experience
- ITI / NCVT / SCVT in Pipe Fitter, Plumber, Fitter, or related trade preferred.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, marine, offshore, or heavy engineering.
- Candidates with strong structural/industrial piping experience may also be considered.
- Marine/shipyard experience will be an added advantage.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and onboard vessels.
- Good knowledge of measuring, fitting, alignment, and pipe fabrication techniques.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
