We are inviting applications from passionate and qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Professor – Aerospace Engineering to be deployed at IIMT University, Meerut.
Job Summary
The Assistant Professor – Aerospace Engineering will be responsible for delivering quality education, conducting laboratory sessions, mentoring students, supporting research and innovation, and contributing to the academic and administrative excellence of the department. The candidate should possess strong technical knowledge and a passion for teaching and research in the field of aerospace engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, and practical classes in Aerospace Engineering.
- Prepare lesson plans, presentations, laboratory manuals, and course materials.
- Conduct internal assessments, practical examinations, assignments, project evaluations, and viva examinations.
- Maintain attendance, academic records, and student performance through the ERP/LMS.
- Mentor students for academics, internships, research projects, competitions, and placements.
- Develop and update curriculum in line with university guidelines and industry advancements.
- Guide undergraduate and postgraduate students in research and final-year projects.
- Organize workshops, seminars, guest lectures, industrial visits, technical competitions, and aerospace-related events.
- Participate in examination duties, paper setting, evaluation, invigilation, and academic administration.
- Contribute to research publications, conferences, patents, funded projects, and Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs).
- Support accreditation activities such as NAAC, NBA, and other quality assurance initiatives.
- Perform academic and administrative responsibilities assigned by the Department and University.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in any of the following disciplines from a recognized university:
- Aerospace Engineering
- Aeronautical Engineering
- Avionics Engineering
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME)
- Mechanical Engineering (with relevant specialization)
- Or any other relevant discipline.
- NET/Ph.D. will be an added advantage as per UGC/University norms.
Experience
- Freshers with excellent academic credentials are welcome to apply.
- Candidates with 1–5 years of teaching, research, or relevant aerospace/aviation industry experience will be preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Aerospace Engineering fundamentals.
- Familiarity with aircraft structures, aerodynamics, propulsion systems, flight mechanics, avionics, and aerospace materials.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as CATIA, SolidWorks, ANSYS, MATLAB, or similar engineering tools will be an advantage.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Effective classroom management and student mentoring abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP/LMS platforms, and digital teaching tools.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
- Research aptitude and commitment to continuous professional development.
