Reconciliations Manager – Role Overview
The Reconciliations Manager is responsible for leading the reconciliations function to ensure the integrity and accuracy of custody and cash position data across internal systems. The role oversees daily reconciliation processes, investigation and resolution of breaks, operational risk management, stakeholder engagement, and continuous process improvement.
The successful candidate will be an experienced people manager with strong operational knowledge, analytical capability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Reconciliations team, ensuring workloads are effectively planned, prioritized, and delivered within agreed SLAs and deadlines.
- Oversee the reconciliation, investigation, allocation, and resolution of all cash and custody breaks.
- Ensure timely escalation and resolution of reconciliation issues and operational risks.
- Produce and review daily, weekly, and monthly MIS and management reporting for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain the accuracy, integrity, and continuity of operational data across supported systems.
- Conduct root cause analysis for reconciliation issues and implement preventative measures.
- Review, enhance, and maintain operational procedures, controls, service definitions, and audit documentation.
- Manage and mitigate operational risk through strong governance and control frameworks.
- Own and maintain the team’s:
- Business Continuity Plan (BCP)
- Risk and Control Assessment (RCA)
- Lead performance management activities including:
- 1:1 meetings
- Appraisals
- Coaching and development
- Policy adherence
- Develop and mentor team members to achieve business and career objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external counterparties.
- Manage external service providers and ensure service quality standards are met.
- Stay informed on market, industry, and regulatory developments and implement process changes where required.
- Lead or support operational change initiatives, projects, automation, and transformation activities.
- Represent the function during client due diligence meetings, audits, and industry engagements.
- Monitor operational trends and identify opportunities for service improvement, efficiency gains, and risk reduction.

- MS Excel
- Reconciliation and operational systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong people management experience including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Experience implementing process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Good-to-Have Skills & Experience:
- Experience within Asset Management or Investment Operations environment.
- Knowledge of:

- Experience with:
- Project management or business change experience/certification.
- Exposure to regulatory and audit environments.
- Experience leading transformation, automation, or operational change initiatives.
- Understanding of the end-to-end asset lifecycle.

Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Business, Economics, or related discipline.
- Relevant experience in Reconciliations, Investment Operations, Asset Management Operations, or Transaction Services required.
- Prior managerial or team leadership experience preferred.
