re-Delivery Preparation & Quality Control
Before the customer arrives, the Delivery Coordinator ensures everything behind the scenes is flawless:
- Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Coordination: Work closely with the service bay and detailing team to ensure the vehicle is washed, polished, fueled/charged, and mechanically cleared.
- Documentation Check: Double-check that all paperwork is complete, including registration documents, insurance cover notes, warranty cards, extended warranty receipts, and invoice copies.
- Accessory Verification: Ensure all accessories requested by the customer (e.g., seat covers, mats, dashcams) are correctly installed and functional.
2. The Handover & Customer Celebration
This is the core of the role—making the delivery feel like an event.
- The Handover Ceremony: Manage the delivery bay experience, which often includes a vehicle unveiling, cake cutting, or gifting a bouquet/keepsake photograph.
- Feature Demonstration (The "Tech Walk"): Explain the vehicle’s features to the customer. This includes pairing their phone via Bluetooth/Apple CarPlay, setting up connected-car apps, explaining safety features (ADAS, airbags), and walking through dashboard controls.
- Document Explanation: Clearly explain the owner’s manual, first-service schedules, roadside assistance numbers, and warranty terms without getting bogged down in legal jargon.
3. Post-Delivery Follow-Up & Feedback Tracking
The job isn't done when the car drives off the lot.
- Post-Delivery Call (PDC): Call the customer within 48 to 72 hours to ensure they aren't having trouble with the car's technology and that they are fully satisfied.
- CSI Score Management: Directly track and improve the dealership's OEM customer satisfaction metrics by resolving any lingering complaints or issues immediately.
- Issue Escalation: If a customer reports a scratch missed during delivery or a missing accessory, coordinate with the sales or service manager to fix it rapidly.
