Job Summary:
The General Manager - Accounts will oversee and manage all financial
aspects of the company, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely
reporting of financial data. This role involves leading the finance team,
managing financial planning and analysis, and supporting business
growth strategies within the automotive industry, specifically for 2, 3,
and 4-wheeler sales and service operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management & Reporting:
o Oversee and manage all general accounting functions,
including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general
ledger, and taxation.
o Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-
end financial close and reporting.
o Prepare and present financial reports to the management
team and board of directors.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting:
o Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with all
departments to ensure comprehensive and realistic
budgets.
o Develop and maintain rolling forecasts, providing insights
and recommendations for financial performance
improvement.
3. Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
o Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure adequate
liquidity for operations.
o Oversee treasury functions, including cash management,
banking relationships, and financial risk management.
4. Compliance & Audits:
o Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory
requirements, including taxation, auditing, and financial
reporting standards.
o Coordinate internal and external audits, and manage
relationships with auditors.

5. Cost Management & Control:
o Identify and implement cost control strategies to improve
profitability.
o Analyze cost structures for the automotive sales and
service operations and recommend improvements.
6. Team Leadership & Development:
o Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting
team.
o Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the
finance department.
7. Stakeholder Management:
o Collaborate with other department heads (e.g., Sales,
Service, Operations) to align financial strategies with
business objectives.
o Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders,
including banks, auditors, and tax authorities.
8. Financial Analysis & Strategy:
o Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support
strategic decision-making for new projects, expansions,
and investments.
o Monitor key financial metrics related to the automotive
industry and make recommendations to drive business
growth.
9. ERP & Digital Transformation:
o Oversee the implementation and optimization of ERP
systems and other digital tools for financial management.
o Ensure that accounting processes are streamlined and
aligned with industry best practices.
10. Regulatory Compliance & Taxation:
o Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws, including
GST, income tax, and other applicable regulations.
o Manage tax planning and compliance, ensuring timely
filing and adherence to tax policies.
2. SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Educational Qualifications & Relevant Experience
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
o CA (Chartered Accountant) or equivalent qualification.
o MBA in Finance is a plus.
Experience:
o 15-20 years of experience in accounting and finance, with at least 10 years in a leadership
role within the automotive industry.
o Strong experience in handling general accounting functions, financial reporting, and
statutory compliance.
Technical Skills:
o Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., Tally, Realbooks, etc.) and accounting software.
o Strong understanding of Indian accounting standards and taxation laws.
o Advanced skills in Excel, financial modeling, and data analysis.
Soft Skills:
o Strong leadership and team management skills.
o Excellent communication and presentation skills.
o Strategic thinker with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
Other:
o In-depth knowledge of the automotive industry and its financial dynamics, especially in
sales and service operations for 2, 3, and 4-wheelers.
o Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position based in Bengaluru.
Occasional travel may be required to various locations for business reviews, audits, and meetings.
