Job Role Overview
The Senior Purchase Executive is responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely availability of materials, cost optimization, vendor development, and maintaining quality standards aligned with project or organizational requirements.
Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Procurement Planning & Execution
- Manage end-to-end purchasing activities for materials, equipment, and services
- Analyze project requirements and prepare procurement schedules
- Ensure timely sourcing to avoid project delays
2. Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new vendors/suppliers
- Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors
- Conduct vendor performance reviews and audits
3. Cost Control & Negotiation
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules
- Achieve cost savings without compromising quality
- Prepare comparative statements (CS) for vendor selection
4. Purchase Order Management
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs)
- Ensure proper documentation and approvals
- Track order status and coordinate for timely delivery
5. Inventory & Coordination
- Coordinate with stores, project, and finance teams
- Monitor stock levels and avoid shortages or overstocking
- Ensure proper material planning and usage
6. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure materials meet required technical specifications
- Follow company procurement policies and procedures
- Maintain records for audits and compliance
7. Market Analysis
- Track market trends, pricing, and supply conditions
- Identify alternate materials/vendors to optimize cost
Required Skills
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Technical knowledge of materials (especially in construction/PEB/manufacturing)
- Vendor management and sourcing expertise
- Proficiency in MS Excel / ERP systems
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
