About the Project
A developer is evaluating a boutique luxury resort near LGBI International Airport, Guwahati. Before committing to construction, we need ground-truth market intelligence, real data collected from real people and real sources in the Guwahati market.
A detailed 48-point research brief has been prepared. Your job is to execute it.
What You Will Do
Primary Research (Weeks 1–6):
- Visit and assess every hotel, resort, and event venue within 15km of LGBI airport
- Conduct structured interviews with hotel General Managers, wedding planners, corporate HR managers, and airline crew accommodation departments
- Extract and analyse competitor pricing data from MakeMyTrip, Booking.com, and Google
- File RTI applications with Assam Tourism and GMC for official hospitality data
- Survey Guwahati corporate professionals on wellness retreat spending habits
- Document findings systematically using provided templates
Report Writing (Weeks 7–8):
- Compile all findings into a structured market intelligence report
- Write clearly in plain business language not academic or journalistic style
- Deliver a complete data pack to the financial analyst for model building
- Contribute to the final integrated feasibility report
You Are the Right Person If:
- You have 2–5 years of experience in market research, business research, strategy research, or investigative/business journalism
- You are comfortable calling strangers — hotel GMs, government offices, corporate HRs — and getting them to talk
- You write in clear, plain English that a banker can read and understand
- You are based in or able to visit Guwahati for field research (travel funded)
- You are available to commit this as your primary project for 8 weeks
- You have covered or researched Northeast India, Assam, or the Guwahati market
Education Qualification
- MBA (any level)
- Bachelor’s + 3 yrs exp
- Postgraduate Diploma
- BA/BSc + portfolio
- PhD
You Are Not the Right Person If:
- You plan to do this research from a desk without conducting real interviews
- You write academically and cannot switch to business report style
- You cannot commit the project as a primary focus
