- Water Chemistry: Test \(pH\) levels and chlorine/bromine concentrations regularly, adjusting chemical balances to ensure a sanitary swimming environment.
- Equipment Monitoring: Inspect pumps, filters, heaters, and chemical feeders to ensure proper circulation and mechanical function.
- Facility Sanitation: Clean the pool deck, vacuum the pool floor, skim the water surface, and maintain the hygiene of locker rooms and restrooms.
- Opening/Closing Procedures: Secure the facility, put away equipment, and cover the pool at closing.
- Hazard Management: Remove debris from the pool area and report any structural or equipment damages to management
- surveillance: Actively monitor the swimming area and patrons to identify distress, hazardous conditions, or potential accidents before they escalate.
- Rule Enforcement: Clearly communicate facility rules and prohibit dangerous behaviors (e.g., running on the deck, diving in shallow areas, or rough play).
- Emergency Response: Perform water rescues, administer CPR, use AEDs, and provide first aid during aquatic emergencies.
- Preparedness: Maintain required lifesaving certifications and participate in ongoing physical conditioning and in-service safety drills.
