Roles and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and process documentation.
- Set up VMC machines: install fixtures, work-holding, tools, and tool offsets.
- Load, verify and run CNC programs; edit programs for minor changes as required.
- Validate dimensions using micrometres, callipers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
- Monitor machine operations, adjust feeds/speeds and offsets to maintain tolerances and surface finish.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate production records and machine logs.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a tidy workstation.
- Collaborate with programmers, engineers and quality teams to improve processes and reduce cycle time.
- Escalate any quality, tooling or machine issues to the supervisor promptly.
Required Candidate Profile
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in VMC machine operation.
- A Diploma or ITI in relevant fields such as mechanical engineering or tool and die technology.
- Hands-on experience with at least one CNC control (Haas/ Fanuc/ Mitsubishi/ Siemens/ Heidenhain).
- Ability to speak and understand Tamil.
- Strong attention to detail and quality focus.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Strong understanding of die-making processes, including tool manufacturing and die casting.
