Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities
- Prepare the Cath Lab before procedures by arranging instruments, catheters, stents, guidewires, and other consumables.
- Assist cardiologists during procedures such as:
- Coronary Angiography (CAG)
- Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA/PCI)
- Temporary and Permanent Pacemaker Implantation
- Device Closure Procedures
- Peripheral Angiography and Angioplasty
- Other interventional cardiac procedures.
- Operate fluoroscopy, hemodynamic monitoring, and other Cath Lab equipment.
- Monitor ECG, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and other vital parameters during procedures.
- Ensure radiation safety for patients and staff by following radiation protection protocols.
- Prepare patients before procedures and assist with post-procedure care.
- Respond effectively during cardiac emergencies and Code Blue situations.
Equipment & Inventory Management
- Perform daily equipment checks and report malfunctions promptly.
- Ensure availability of consumables and maintain inventory records.
- Coordinate with Stores and Biomedical Engineering for maintenance and procurement.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the Cath Lab.
Documentation
- Maintain accurate procedure records and patient documentation.
- Record equipment usage and inventory.
- Ensure proper documentation of all interventions in accordance with hospital policies.
Infection Control & Safety
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques.
- Follow infection prevention and biomedical waste management guidelines.
- Adhere to NABH, radiation safety, and quality standards.
Qualification
- B.Sc. in Cardiac Technology / Cath Lab Technology / Allied Health Sciences or
- Diploma in Cath Lab Technology / Cardiac Care Technology or equivalent from a recognized institute.
Experience
- 0–2 years: Junior Cath Lab Technician.
- 2–5 years: Experienced Cath Lab Technician in a multi-specialty or cardiac hospital preferred.
- Experience in handling emergency cardiac procedures will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and interventional procedures.
- Operation of Cath Lab imaging and monitoring equipment.
- ECG and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Radiation safety practices.
- Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS certification preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork.
- Ability to work under pressure and during emergencies.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Cath Lab readiness before scheduled procedures.
- Compliance with infection control and radiation safety protocols.
- Accuracy and completeness of documentation.
- Equipment uptime and maintenance compliance.
- Timely support during emergency procedures.
- Patient safety and adherence to quality standards.
Working Conditions
- Rotational shifts, including night duties, weekends, and public holidays.
- Participation in on-call duties for emergency cardiac interventions.
- Exposure to radiation; appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be used at all times.

The Cath Lab Technician is responsible for assisting cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The role involves preparing the Cath Lab, operating specialized imaging and monitoring equipment, ensuring patient safety, maintaining sterility, and supporting emergency cardiac interventions while adhering to hospital protocols and quality standards.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
