Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to perform laboratory tests, handle specimens, maintain laboratory equipment, and support accurate diagnosis and patient care. The ideal candidate should follow laboratory protocols, quality standards, and safety guidelines while ensuring timely and accurate test results.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, receive, label, and process patient specimens such as blood, urine, stool, and other samples.
- Perform routine laboratory investigations as per standard operating procedures.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Record, analyze, and report test results accurately and promptly.
- Ensure proper storage and disposal of specimens and biomedical waste.
- Maintain laboratory records, registers, and documentation.
- Follow infection control practices and laboratory safety protocols.
- Monitor reagent inventory and inform the supervisor regarding stock requirements.
- Assist in internal and external quality control programs.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding test requirements and results.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in departmental meetings, audits, and training programs.
