UI/UX Artist (Game Development)
Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative UI/UX Artist to design, create, and implement intuitive, visually appealing, and interactive user interfaces for our games. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of user experience principles, visual design, motion graphics, and UI animation to create engaging player experiences across menus, HUDs, inventory systems, and in-game interfaces.
Key Responsibilities
- UI Design
- Design and create high-quality game interfaces, including:
- Main Menus
- Strong knowledge of Spine Tool and Adobe After Effects is a plus
- HUDs (Heads-Up Displays)
- Inventory Systems
- Skill Trees
- Maps and Navigation Screens
- Settings Menus
- Shop Interfaces
- Pop-ups and Notifications
- Develop wireframes, mockups, and UI style guides.
- Create UI assets such as icons, buttons, panels, frames, and visual elements.
- UX Design
- Design intuitive user flows and navigation systems.
- Ensure interfaces are easy to understand and accessible to players.
- Analyze and improve player interactions and usability.
- Collaborate with designers to enhance overall player experience.
- Iterate on designs based on feedback and playtesting results.
- UI Animation & Interaction
- Create polished UI animations and motion graphics.
- Design interactive states for UI elements, including:
- Hover Effects
- Click Effects
- Selected States
- Disabled States
- Focus States
- Create smooth transitions between menus and screens.
- Animate HUD elements, notifications, achievements, rewards, and progression systems.
- Design visual feedback effects that enhance player interaction and responsiveness.
- Work closely with programmers to implement UI animations and interactions within the game engine.
- Implementation
- Implement UI systems within Unreal Engine or Unity.
- Optimize UI assets and animations for performance.
- Ensure interfaces function correctly across different screen sizes and resolutions.
- Maintain consistency with the game's visual style and design language.
- Required Skills
- Strong understanding of UI and UX design principles.
- Proficiency in:
- Figma
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Experience with:
- Unreal Engine (UMG)
- Unity UI Systems
- Knowledge of typography, composition, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
- Understanding of player behavior and user-centered design.
- Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready UI assets.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with motion graphics and UI animation.
- Knowledge of Adobe After Effects or similar animation tools.
- Experience creating game-ready UI systems.
- Understanding of accessibility and responsive design.
- Basic Blueprint or scripting knowledge for UI implementation.
