The Store Supervisor will oversee and manage the entire stores function for the manufacturing unit, including both material (raw material, semi-finished goods, packaging, etc.) and consumable stores (maintenance supplies, tools, spare parts, utilities consumables etc.). The role ensures optimal inventory levels, timely issue & receipt, accuracy of records, cost control and supports smooth production operations with minimal stock‐outs or scrap.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and store raw materials, semi-finished goods, packaging & consumables (lubricants, tools, spares, utilities).
- Issue materials and consumables accurately and on time to production/maintenance as per demand.
- Maintain minimum/optimum/maximum stock levels; monitor slow-moving/obsolete items and propose actions.
- Conduct periodic cycle counts and annual physical inventory; reconcile discrepancies and update records.
- Implement correct storage practices (FIFO/FEFO where applicable), ensure safe and clean store environment.
- Analyse consumption trends and work with procurement & production to forecast requirements and control waste.
- Supervise store team: storekeepers, handlers, issuance clerks; develop SOPs and enforce compliance with safety, housekeeping, and audit requirements.
- Prepare and present regular reports: receipts, issues, stock-value, variances, stock‐outs, slow‐moving items.
- Support budgeting process for both CAPEX and OPEX in the stores function; track variances and take corrective actions for budget adherence.
- Support budgeting and cost control for consumables; ensure no critical stock‐outs of key materials or consumables.
Qualifications & Experience
- Any Graduate with relevant skills. (Degree in Material Management or Supply Chain Management would be preferred).
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in stores/materials management in a manufacturing environment (textile or jute) – preferably including both material & consumables stores.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management practices, stores operations, ERP systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams, drive process improvements and cost efficiencies.
- Good analytical skills, excel / spreadsheet proficiency, strong reporting ability.
- Knowledge of safety, housekeeping, and regulatory compliance in stores operations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
