Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Hospital Pharmacy Incharge/Manager for our Ortho-One. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the OP, IP, and OT Pharmacy, ensuring adherence to NABH standards, conducting medication audits, managing pharmaceutical dispensing, and leading a team of pharmacy professionals. The Pharmacy Manager will also play a key role in maintaining the quality, safety, and compliance of medications used in patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the OP, IP, and OT pharmacies to ensure medications are dispensed accurately and safely in all patient care areas.
- Ensure pharmacy operations comply with NABH standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular audits to verify proper medication documentation, accurate dispensing, and regulatory compliance.
- Stay updated on OT implants used in orthopaedic surgeries and manage their proper handling and distribution.
- Prepare and dispense prescribed medications, ensuring accuracy in formulas, ingredients, and prescriptions.
- Follow standard procedures for compounding medications, including measuring and mixing ingredients.
- Supervise pharmacy staff in tasks such as mixing, packaging, labeling, and dispensing medications.
- Educate patients and pharmacy staff about drug interactions, side effects, proper dosage, and medication storage.
- Ensure proper handling and security of controlled substances, as well as safe disposal of hazardous medications.
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, medication costs, and inventory in the pharmacy system.
- Test medications to ensure their identity, purity, and strength meet the required standards.
- Train and guide pharmacy interns and other medical staff on pharmacy practices, safety measures, and medication knowledge.
Candidate Profile:
- Education: B.Pharm
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as Pharmacy In-charge in a hospital (orthopaedics exposure is preferable).
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of NABH standards and hospital pharmacy operations.
- Extensive knowledge of medication audits, OT implants, and pharmacy compounding processes.
- Leadership skills and experience managing pharmacy staff.
- Excellent communication skills, both with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to manage inventory and ensure accurate record-keeping.
