Key Responsibilities & Duties
1. Production Planning & Floor Execution
- Shift Management: Plan, allocate, and execute daily production schedules based on targets provided by the Production Manager.
- Machine Setup & Optimization: Set and monitor critical process parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle time, and speed) on plastic processing machinery.
- Resource Allocation: Ensure optimal utilization of manpower (operators, helpers) and machines during the shift to maximize output.
2. Quality Assurance & Troubleshooting
- Defect Minimization: Continuously monitor product quality on the floor to minimize rejection rates and scrap generation.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Diagnose and troubleshoot processing defects (e.g., short shots, flashing, shrinkage, silver streaks, warping) and adjust machine settings accordingly.
- SOP Adherence: Ensure all operators strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain product consistency.
3. Maintenance & Downtime Management
- Preventive Maintenance: Coordinate with the maintenance team for scheduled servicing of molding machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment (chillers, hopper dryers, granulators).
- Breakdown Resolution: Act quickly during mechanical or electrical breakdowns to minimize machine downtime and production loss.
4. Manpower Management & Safety
- Shop-Floor Discipline: Manage, motivate, and maintain discipline among skilled and unskilled workers in the shift.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like safety shoes, gloves, and earplugs. Ensure strict compliance with factory safety standards to maintain an accident-free environment.
- Training: Conduct on-the-job training for new operators regarding machine safety, operation, and quality standards.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Daily Production Reports (DPR): Maintain accurate logs of raw material consumption, total production yield, rejection details, and downtime, typically managed in Excel.
- Shift Handover: Ensure a seamless shift handover by documenting pending tasks, machine statuses, and material counts in the logbook.
Qualifications & Key Skills
- Education: Diploma Mechanical / B.E. Mechanical
- Experience : Fresher or 1 To 2 Years’ Experience
- Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel for generating daily metrics and tracking production efficiency.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, team handling abilities, and a quick problem-solving mindset.
