Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Mechanical cum Purchase Engineer to support both Mechanical Engineering and Procurement activities. The selected candidate will be responsible for mechanical coordination, material planning, vendor management, procurement of engineering components, and ensuring the timely availability of materials for automation projects while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical Engineering
- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of automation machines, fixtures, and mechanical assemblies.
- Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Coordinate with the Design, Production, and Project teams for smooth project execution.
- Support machine assembly, installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, quality requirements, and safety guidelines.
- Maintain engineering drawings, documents, and revision records.
Purchase & Procurement
- Source mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation components from approved vendors.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices, negotiate with suppliers, and prepare Purchase Orders (POs).
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Track material deliveries and ensure timely procurement as per project schedules.
- Verify purchased materials against technical specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate with Stores, Accounts, and Production teams for material receipt and invoice processing.
- Maintain procurement records, vendor database, and purchase reports.
Qualifications & Eligibility
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Freshers are welcome to apply. Candidates with 0–2 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Purchase, Manufacturing, or the Industrial Automation industry are also encouraged to apply.
- Basic knowledge of engineering drawings, BOM, MS Excel, and industrial components will be an added advantage.
- Strong willingness to learn, good communication skills, and a positive attitude.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of mechanical components and industrial automation systems.
- Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, bearings, motors, sensors, and machine elements.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and BOMs.
- Good communication, negotiation, and vendor coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel); ERP knowledge will be an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD/SolidWorks is preferred.
