Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced P&ID Process Designer to join our Mobile / Containerized Design team. The ideal candidate will have 3+years of relevant experience, preferably in water treatment containerized design and new asset design engineering. This role requires strong engineering expertise, including the ability to review documents and drawings produced by the Gradiant Global Engineering Center in India and/or outsourced engineering consultants. P&ID Process Designer will do Asset design and implement the asset design process, tools, best practices, safety reviews and team training / mentoring.
Reponsibilities
Develop and maintain Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD)
Ensure all drawings maintain dimensional accuracy, adhere to project design basis, and reflect up-to-date specifications.
Manage revisions and maintain drawing records following strict document control procedures.
Collaborate closely with process, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering teams to incorporate multidisciplinary inputs into P&IDs.
Ensure all drawings conform to established company, project-specific, and industry standards such as ASME, BIS, ISO, among others.
Adhere to internal CAD standards, including layering conventions, naming protocols, and drawing formats.
Maintain current knowledge of evolving engineering drafting practices and software updates to enhance drawing quality and efficiency
Quality Control and Compliance: Ensure that all piping designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices. Conduct quality control reviews to verify design integrity and safety.
Contributes as a team member in the development of projects carrying out assigned responsibilities in a timely, diligent, safe and professional manner
Familiar with Gradiant’s new technologies, engineering design of Skids / modules, pipe supports, pipe racks.
Support the internal and external design reviews, safety and HAZOP reviews and maintain the document controls
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations throughout the Design lifecycle.
Requirements
At least a Degree / Diploma in Engineering (Chemical/ Mechanical/ Environmental or equivalent)
Minimum 5+ years’ of relevant experience, with a preference for those who have worked in international projects and possess a deep understanding of P&IDs
Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in AutoCAD using Autodesk Inventor. Exposure in AutoCAD.
Relevant certifications in CAD drafting or engineering disciplines are advantageous. Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective team collaboration
Experience in plant and equipment design & detail engineering in the domain of Water and Wastewater Treatment is preferred or similar experience in the Oil & Gas, Chemical process and Power plants can be considered
Knowledge in global Mechanical design Standard, such as ASME and DIN standards
Proficiency in computer skills like MS Office, 3D model review.
Detail engineering of complex/ skid-based /module-based treatment / stick-built systems/plants.
Familiar with industry related standards and specifications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with all levels of management.
Ability to travel as required for project needs.
Experience working in a multicultural environment and in an international business.
