Kitchen Utility Worker – Job Description
A Kitchen Utility Worker is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in the kitchen while supporting kitchen staff with basic operational tasks. This role is essential to ensuring smooth kitchen operations and compliance with health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning & Dishwashing
- Clean and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Operate and maintain dishwashing machines
- Keep sinks, counters, and food preparation areas clean
Sanitation & Safety
- Follow proper food handling and hygiene regulations
- Dispose of garbage and maintain waste areas
- Ensure cleaning supplies are used and stored safely
Kitchen Assistance
- Assist with simple food preparation tasks (washing, chopping, organizing ingredients)
- Stock and restock kitchen supplies
- Help unload deliveries and organize inventory
General Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of storage rooms and walk-in refrigerators
- Support cooks and chefs during busy service periods
- Perform other duties as assigned by kitchen management
