What you will get to do as a Sr QA Automation Engineer

Design and develop automated testing frameworks for Web, Mobile (iOS, Android, Web), and API testing.

Create, maintain, and execute automated regression and end-to-end test suites using tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, and Maestro.

Collaborate closely with Product Engineers and Product Managers to define test strategies and ensure product quality.

Perform functional, integration, performance, and regression testing across platforms.

Develop and execute API automation scripts using Postman, REST Assured, or similar frameworks.

Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab primarily) to ensure continuous quality validation.

Work with AWS cloud environments and contribute to environment setup, deployment validations, and test scalability.

Identify, document, and track software defects to resolution while ensuring root cause analysis and effective communication with engineering teams.

Collaborate in designing and maintaining test data strategies and validation processes for backend services and APIs.

Perform manual and exploratory testing where automation isn’t applicable, ensuring comprehensive coverage.

Assist in testing hardware peripherals and integrations (such as payment devices, signature devices, scanner, card readers, printers etc) to ensure end-to-end reliability.

Advocate for test automation best practices, contributing to the team’s continuous improvement and innovation.

Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.

What you will need to be successful

About 8–10+ years of experience in QA and Test Automation, including Web, Mobile, and API testing.

Strong experience with automation frameworks like Selenium, Cypress or Playwright, and Maestro (hands-on coding skills required).

Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and enabling shift left testing practices.

Familiarity with cloud-based environments (preferably AWS) and distributed application testing.

Knowledge of modern testing patterns like BDD/TDD, data-driven testing, mocks/stubs, etc.

Proficiency in at least one programming language (TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python preferred).

Experience with test reporting, metrics tracking, and defect management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).

Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, Postman, and automation of backend validation.

Experience testing hardware or peripheral integrations is a plus.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

Ability to work independently while collaborating in a fast paced, cross functional team environment.
