Role description
JD Overview The Lab Support Engineer assists System Test Engineers by ensuring that HIL/SIL test environments, lab equipment, and supporting infrastructure are properly maintained and ready for use. This role focuses on operational support, setup, and documentation so that engineers can concentrate on executing and analyzing system-level tests. Key Responsibilities Test bench setup: Prepare, configure, and maintain HIL/SIL test benches, including hardware connections, ECU interfaces, and simulation tools. Equipment calibration: Perform routine checks and calibrations of lab instruments to ensure accuracy in test execution. Software environment support: Install, update, and troubleshoot test automation tools, drivers, and simulation environments. Data logging assistance: Collect, organize, and archive test logs, ensuring traceability for defect tracking and validation reports. Defect documentation: Support engineers by recording test anomalies, preparing defect reports, and maintaining issue-tracking systems. Inventory and consumables: Manage cables, connectors, ECUs, and other consumables required for test execution. Safety and compliance: Ensure adherence to lab safety protocols, maintain PPE availability, and support audits for automotive standards. Automation support: Assist in running and monitoring automated test scripts, flagging execution issues for engineers. Qualifications Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Preferred Experience: Exposure to Electronics Hardware, Automotive ECU testing, HIL/SIL environments, or lab operations. Skills: Familiarity with CAN, LIN, and OBD protocols. Basic knowledge of test automation frameworks and scripting. Strong organizational skills for documentation and inventory management. Ability to work closely with System Test Engineers in a fast-paced lab environment.
