Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Network Operations Manager (L4/L5) to manage, monitor, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring network availability, security, performance, incident management, and operational excellence while working independently and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Network Operations and Infrastructure Management
- Manage and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, SD-WAN, and cloud networking.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of network services.
- Monitor network health, capacity, utilization, and performance metrics.
- Perform network configuration, upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities.
- Manage network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers.
Incident and Problem Management
- Lead investigation and resolution of P1, P2, and major network incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.
- Coordinate with vendors, cloud providers, and internal teams during critical outages.
- Ensure adherence to SLAs and operational procedures.
Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain network security controls and best practices.
- Manage firewall policies, VPN connectivity, access controls, and network segmentation.
- Support security audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to address network-related risks.
Cloud Networking
- Configure and manage networking services in cloud environments such as:
- Microsoft Azure
- Amazon Web Services
- Google Cloud
- Support hybrid and multi-cloud network architectures.
- Manage ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Transit Gateway, VPC/VNet connectivity, and peering.
Monitoring and Automation
- Implement network monitoring and alerting solutions.
- Automate operational tasks using scripting and infrastructure automation tools.
- Develop operational dashboards, reports, and performance analytics.
Leadership and Stakeholder Management (L5 Responsibilities)
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Lead operational reviews, change management, and service improvement initiatives.
- Participate in architecture discussions and network modernization projects.
- Coordinate with business stakeholders and management on operational priorities.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, STP, VPNs, and routing/switching concepts.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or similar network technologies.
- Experience with cloud networking in Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Knowledge of firewall administration, load balancing, and network security.
- Experience with any of the monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix, Nagios, Grafana, or similar.
- Scripting knowledge in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Understanding of ITIL processes, Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field.
- Relevant certifications preferred:
- CCNA / CCNP
- Azure Network Engineer Associate
- AWS Advanced Networking Specialty
- Fortinet NSE
- Palo Alto Certifications
