Paint Shop Quality Engineer – Roles & Responsibilities
Quality Inspection: Ensure painted parts meet customer drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Process Control: Monitor critical parameters such as DFT, viscosity, temperature, humidity, and curing conditions.
Defect Analysis: Identify and analyze defects such as orange peel, runs, pinholes, blistering, and poor adhesion.
First-Off Inspection: Conduct first-piece/FAI inspection and approve production start-up.
Testing: Perform/coordinate DFT, adhesion, gloss, color, hardness, and other required tests.
Documentation: Maintain inspection reports, process records, test results, and traceability documents.
NCR & CAPA: Raise NCRs and lead root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions.
SPC & KPI: Monitor quality trends, FPY, rework, scrap, and process capability.
Audits & Compliance: Ensure compliance with customer specifications, SOPs, Control Plans, and applicable standards.
Continuous Improvement: Work with Production and Process teams to reduce defects, rework, scrap, and customer complaints.
