1. Electrical Panel Work (Design, Assembly & Testing)
This phase involves the end-to-end fabrication, wiring, and testing of industrial control and power panels, ensuring adherence to electrical safety standards and schematic designs.
- Panel Fabrication & Layout: Executing the mechanical assembly of Motor Control Centers (MCC), Power Control Centers (PCC), and PLC Automation panels based on approved General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
- Component Integration: Mounting and securing switchgear (MCBs, MCCBs, ACBs), contactors, relays, transformers, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) within the panel enclosures.
- Wiring & Routing: Systematic routing of power and control cables, including precise feruling, lugging, and color-coding for easy identification and troubleshooting.
- Busbar Installation: Cutting, bending, and sleeving copper or aluminum busbars for high-current power distribution within the panel.
- Quality & Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT): Conducting pre-dispatch tests, including continuity checks, megger (insulation resistance) testing, and simulated power-on tests to ensure zero-defect delivery.
2. VFD Commissioning Work (Variable Frequency Drive)
This phase focuses on the precise configuration, tuning, and integration of AC drives to ensure optimal motor control, energy efficiency, and system reliability.
- Pre-Commissioning Checks: Verifying motor nameplate details, checking input/output voltages, ensuring proper grounding/earthing, and confirming that the motor matches the drive specifications.
- Parameterization: Configuring drive parameters, including acceleration/deceleration ramps, min/max frequency limits, thermal overload protection, and custom PID loops.
- Motor Tuning: Performing static and dynamic auto-tuning to allow the VFD to map the motor’s electrical characteristics for precise vector or V/f control.
- System Integration: Mapping digital and analog I/Os and establishing communication with master PLCs or DCS systems using industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus RTU/TCP, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
- Performance Optimization & Load Testing: Running the motor coupled to the load, monitoring for excessive harmonics, vibrations, or current draws, and fine-tuning parameters to ensure smooth operation across all speed ranges.
3. On-Site Work (Installation, Execution & Handover)
This phase covers the physical execution of the project at the client's facility, bringing the manufactured panels and programmed drives into live operation.
- Site Preparation & Safety: Adhering to strict site safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and coordinating with mechanical teams for site readiness.
- Erection & Installation: Safely shifting, positioning, and grouting electrical panels in their designated control rooms or field locations.
- Field Cabling & Termination: Overseeing the laying of power, control, and communication cables through cable trays/trenches, followed by meticulous glanding and termination at both the panel and field instrument ends.
- Loop Checking & Site Acceptance Testing (SAT): Verifying every field connection back to the control panel, conducting live-load testing, and proving the system's functionality to the client.
- Troubleshooting & Handover: Identifying and resolving any on-site electrical or communication faults, delivering hands-on operator training, and providing final "As-Built" drawings and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
