Position Title: Hospital Billing Accountant
Department: Accounts & Billing
Location: Jaya Urology Hospital & Nursing Home.
Reports To: Accounts Manager / Finance Head / Hospital Administrator
Job Summary
The Hospital Billing Accountant is responsible for managing patient billing, maintaining financial records, handling hospital accounts, and ensuring accurate billing and payment processes. The role includes preparing invoices, coordinating with patients and insurance departments, maintaining billing records, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle patient billing and prepare accurate hospital invoices.
- Manage OPD, IPD, pharmacy, laboratory, and procedure billing processes.
- Verify billing details, treatment charges, and payment records.
- Maintain daily accounting entries and financial transactions.
- Coordinate with the insurance/TPA department for billing and claim-related matters.
- Generate receipts, payment records, and billing reports.
- Maintain proper records of patient payments, pending dues, and refunds.
- Reconcile cash, card, online payments, and bank transactions daily.
- Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
- Coordinate with front office, pharmacy, laboratory, and other departments for billing accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with hospital billing policies and accounting procedures.
- Handle patient billing queries and provide proper clarification when required.
- Support audits and maintain proper financial documentation.
- Monitor outstanding payments and follow up for pending dues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or relevant field.
- Having good Knowledge of Tally is preferred.
- Having Good knowledge of GST and other taxation.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in hospital billing, accounting, or healthcare finance preferred.
- Experience with Hospital Management Systems (HMS) and medical billing processes is an advantage.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of hospital billing and accounting procedures.
- Proficiency in Tally, MS Excel, MS Office, and hospital billing software.
- Basic understanding of GST, taxation, and financial record management.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation.

Salary
- As per industry standards and candidate experience.
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
