Network Engineer Experience: 7+ Years Location: Chennai (WFO) Department: IT Infrastructure / Network Operations Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer with 7+ years of hands-on expertise in enterprise network infrastructure, firewall security, wireless technologies, cloud networking, and IT service management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for Operations, designing, implementing, monitoring, and supporting secure and scalable network environments across on-premises and cloud platforms. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, customer-facing incident handling capability, and a solid understanding of ITSM processes. Key Responsibilities Network & Security Infrastructure Configure, manage, and troubleshoot FortiGate firewalls (policies, VPNs, NAT, UTM features). Implement and support Aruba and Cisco switches and wireless access points. Perform VLAN configuration, routing, switching, STP, trunking, and wireless optimization. Manage network segmentation and security best practices. Support and maintain Genian NAC solution for network access control. Monitoring & Operations Monitor infrastructure using Site24x7 or equivalent monitoring tools. Proactively identify and resolve performance or availability issues. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for network-related incidents. Participate in on-call support and major incident management. Cloud Networking Support AWS and OCI cloud infrastructure networking. Configure VPC/VNet, subnets, route tables, security groups, and connectivity (VPN/Direct Connect/FastConnect). Troubleshoot hybrid connectivity between on-prem and cloud environments. IT Service Management Work within ITSM frameworks (Incident, Problem, Change, Release management). Handle service desk tickets within SLA timelines. Maintain documentation for network topology, configurations, and SOPs. Participate in change management processes. Customer & Stakeholder Interaction Communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers during incidents. Provide clear updates during outages or major service disruptions. Support audits and compliance requirements when needed. Required Technical Skills Strong experience with FortiGate firewall administration Aruba and Cisco switching & wireless technologies Network protocols: TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLAN, STP VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN) NAC implementation (Genian preferred) Network monitoring tools (Site24x7 or equivalent) Cloud networking (AWS and OCI) Good understanding of ITSM processes Certifications (Added Advantage) ITIL Foundation Fortinet NSE certification CCNA / CCNP Cloud certifications (AWS / OCI) – preferred Soft Skills Strong communication skills Customer handling experience during incidents Analytical and problem-solving ability Documentation and reporting skills Preferred Experience Experience in multi-site global network environments Exposure to high availability firewall clusters Experience with network security audits Knowledge of automation or scripting (basic level preferred)
Pay: Up to ₹3,500,000.00 per year
