Job Title: Senior Linux System Administrator / Linux Automation Engineer
Experience: 6–8 Years
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Linux System Administrator with strong hands-on experience in Linux Server Administration, Bash scripting, and Ansible automation. The candidate will be responsible for managing enterprise Linux environments, automating infrastructure operations, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring the availability, performance, and security of Linux servers.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) along with RHCSA/RHCE certification and practical experience in infrastructure automation using Ansible.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain RHEL/Linux servers in production and non-production environments.
Perform server installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting.
Monitor system health, availability, performance, CPU, memory, disk, and I/O utilization.
Troubleshoot complex Linux OS, application, networking, and system-level issues.
Perform LVM, filesystem, mount, storage, and disk management.
Manage users, groups, permissions, sudo access, SSH, and system services.
Configure and troubleshoot systemd, boot processes, cron jobs, and scheduled tasks.
Work with SELinux, firewalld, SSH, and other Linux security components.
Develop and maintain Bash/Shell scripts to automate operational tasks.
Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, inventories, and automation workflows.
Automate server provisioning, configuration management, patching, application deployment, and routine administration using Ansible.
Perform OS upgrades, security patching, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening.
Analyze logs and perform root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents.
Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
Support high-availability and business-critical Linux environments.
Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and automation standards.
Collaborate with application, database, network, security, and DevOps teams.
Provide L2/L3 support and participate in on-call/production support activities when required.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Mandatory Skills:
6–8 years of hands-on experience in Linux System Administration.
Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
Strong knowledge of Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
Strong hands-on experience with Bash/Shell scripting.
Strong hands-on experience with Ansible automation.
Experience creating and maintaining Ansible Playbooks, Roles, Variables, Templates, Handlers, and Inventories.
Good knowledge of LVM, filesystems, NFS, permissions, users/groups, SSH, systemd, and process management.
Good understanding of SELinux and firewalld.
Experience in server patching, upgrades, configuration management, and hardening.
Good understanding of Linux networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, routing, SSH, and firewall configuration.
Strong troubleshooting and RCA skills.
RHCSA and/or RHCE certification is required/preferred based on the hiring requirement. RHCSA validates core RHEL administration skills, while RHCE is particularly relevant to Ansible-based automation.
