We are looking for an experienced Project Manager – Defence Projects to lead and manage Defence/EPC infrastructure projects from planning and mobilisation through execution, commissioning and handover.
The candidate will be responsible for project delivery, client coordination, subcontractor/vendor management, cost and schedule control, quality, documentation, compliance and team management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Execution
- Plan, manage and execute Defence/EPC projects as per approved scope, schedule and budget.
- Prepare project execution plans, milestones, resource plans and project schedules.
- Monitor project progress against planned targets and take corrective actions.
- Ensure timely completion of project activities, commissioning and handover.
2. Defence Client Coordination
- Coordinate with Defence organisations, Government departments, consultants, PMC and other stakeholders.
- Attend project review meetings and provide regular project status reports.
- Understand and ensure compliance with Defence/Government project requirements and protocols.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients and ensure timely resolution of issues.
3. Team & Site Management
- Lead project teams including Project Coordinators, Engineers, Supervisors, QA/QC, Procurement, Stores and subcontractors.
- Allocate manpower and resources according to project requirements.
- Monitor productivity and performance of project team members.
- Coordinate between Head Office and project/site teams.
4. Vendor & Subcontractor Management
- Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and service providers.
- Monitor subcontractor performance, work quality and timelines.
- Ensure timely availability of materials, equipment and manpower.
- Resolve execution-related issues with vendors/subcontractors.
5. Cost & Commercial Control
- Monitor project budgets, expenditure and cost performance.
- Coordinate with Finance/Accounts and Commercial teams for billing and payments.
- Verify measurements, work completion and supporting documentation.
- Support variation, extra-item and change-order requirements.
- Ensure project profitability is maintained.
6. Procurement & Material Management
- Coordinate with Procurement and Stores for project material requirements.
- Prepare/verify material requirement schedules.
- Ensure materials reach the project site as per execution plan.
- Monitor material consumption and prevent wastage.
7. Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure execution as per approved drawings, specifications, BOQ and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections and quality documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards and statutory requirements.
- Maintain proper project records and documentation.
8. Documentation & Reporting
- Review DPR/WPR/MPR and project progress reports.
- Maintain project schedules, MOMs, approvals, drawings, inspection reports and handover documents.
- Prepare management reports highlighting progress, risks, delays, cost and critical issues.
- Ensure proper documentation for audits and client requirements.
9. Risk & Issue Management
- Identify project risks and prepare mitigation plans.
- Track delays, dependencies and critical activities.
- Escalate major project issues to senior management with recommended solutions.
- Ensure timely closure of client and site-level issues.
Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Civil / Electrical / Mechanical / Electronics / related Engineering discipline.
- PMP/PRINCE2 certification will be an advantage.
- Experience in Defence, Government, PSU, EPC, Infrastructure, ICT/MEP or Engineering projects preferred.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, execution, billing, contracts and vendor management.

Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience managing Defence/Government projects, be capable of independently handling project execution, and have the maturity to coordinate between client, consultants, vendors, subcontractors and internal departments.
Candidates from Defence EPC, Government Infrastructure, PSU projects, CPWD, MES, DRDO-related projects, MEP/ICT/SITC projects or similar Government/Defence environments will be preferred.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
