Job Purpose
To supervise and coordinate the hospital's security and housekeeping operations, ensuring the safety, cleanliness, hygiene, discipline, and proper maintenance of the hospital premises.
Key Responsibilities1. Security Management
- Supervise security personnel and ensure proper deployment across all shifts.
- Prepare and monitor security duty rosters.
- Monitor entry and exit of patients, visitors, employees, vendors, and vehicles.
- Ensure proper access control and visitor management.
- Conduct regular security rounds throughout the hospital premises.
- Monitor CCTV and report suspicious activities or security concerns.
- Ensure security at critical areas such as Emergency, ICU, OT, Pharmacy, Cash Counter, Medical Records, and Parking.
- Handle security incidents, disputes, unauthorized entry, theft, and other security-related issues.
- Maintain security incident, lost & found, visitor, and vehicle records.
- Coordinate with hospital management and emergency services/police when required.
- Ensure security staff maintain proper discipline, grooming, attendance, and conduct.
2. Housekeeping Management
- Supervise housekeeping staff and ensure proper manpower deployment.
- Prepare and monitor housekeeping duty rosters and cleaning schedules.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of wards, patient rooms, corridors, toilets, waiting areas, offices, and other hospital areas.
- Ensure proper cleaning and disinfection as per hospital procedures.
- Monitor housekeeping standards in ICU, OT, Emergency, Isolation Rooms, and other critical areas.
- Ensure proper segregation and disposal of waste as per hospital procedures.
- Monitor the availability and proper use of cleaning materials, chemicals, equipment, and PPE.
- Ensure housekeeping staff follow infection prevention and control practices.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintain cleaning checklists.
- Report maintenance issues, damages, spills, or unsafe conditions to the concerned department.
3. Staff Supervision
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, leave, and discipline of security and housekeeping staff.
- Allocate daily duties and conduct shift briefings.
- Ensure adequate manpower is available in all shifts.
- Guide and train staff on hospital safety, infection control, fire safety, emergency procedures, and housekeeping practices.
- Monitor staff performance and report concerns to management.
- Coordinate with HR, Nursing, Maintenance, Infection Control, and other departments.
4. Safety & Emergency Responsibilities
- Assist in fire emergencies, evacuation, crowd control, and disaster management.
- Ensure security and housekeeping staff are aware of emergency procedures.
- Participate in fire drills, mock drills, and safety training.
- Immediately report accidents, hazards, security incidents, and other safety concerns.
5. Documentation
Maintain and update:
- Security and housekeeping duty rosters
- Attendance records
- Security incident reports
- Visitor and vehicle records
- Lost & Found Register
- Housekeeping cleaning checklists
- Cleaning material / chemical records
- Training and briefing records
- Incident and accident reports
- Daily shift handover records
Qualification
- Any Degree / Diploma preferred.
- Certification in Security, Facility Management, or Housekeeping is an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of hospital safety, housekeeping, security, and infection control practices.
Experience
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in security, housekeeping, facility management, or hospital administration.
- Previous experience in a hospital / healthcare facility is preferred.
- Experience in supervising security and housekeeping teams will be an added advantage.
