Summary
The Homeroom Teacher is responsible for creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for primary school students following the Cambridge Primary Curriculum. The teacher will deliver high-quality instruction, support students' academic and personal development, maintain effective communication with parents, and contribute to the overall school community.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching and Learning
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Cambridge Primary Curriculum framework.
- Facilitate student-centered learning experiences that promote inquiry, critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies into classroom instruction.
- Foster literacy, numeracy, and essential 21st-century skills.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.
Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring
- Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
- Analyze assessment data to inform teaching and improve learning outcomes.
- Prepare student progress reports and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
Classroom Management
- Establish and maintain positive classroom routines and expectations.
- Promote student well-being, self-discipline, and respectful behavior.
- Implement effective behavior management strategies consistent with school policies.
- Ensure student safety and welfare at all times.
Qualifications Essential
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or relevant subject area.
- Teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent).
- Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in a primary school setting.
- Experience teaching the Cambridge Primary Curriculum or an international curriculum would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Strong proficiency in English (spoken and written).
Preferred
- Cambridge Professional Development certification.
- Experience in international schools.
- Knowledge of inquiry-based and differentiated learning approaches.
- Familiarity with educational technology tools and digital learning platforms.
