We are looking for an EPUB 3.0 Production Executive with hands-on experience in creating Reflowable EPUBs for commercial publishing. The ideal candidate should be capable of producing high-quality, standards-compliant ebooks through both manual coding and professional publishing tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert print-ready books (Adobe InDesign/Word/PDF) into EPUB 3.0 (Reflowable).
- Create and edit EPUBs using XHTML and CSS.
- Build and maintain clean EPUB package structures, including metadata, navigation, TOC, hyperlinks, footnotes, and cross-references.
- Optimize images, fonts, and layouts for various eBook readers.
- Validate EPUBs using EPUBCheck and resolve validation errors.
- Test compatibility across Kindle, Apple Books, Google Play Books, Kobo, Adobe Digital Editions, Thorium Reader, and other EPUB readers.
- Troubleshoot formatting and rendering issues across different devices and platforms.
- Maintain organized source files and production documentation.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of EPUB 3.0 (Reflowable) standards.
- Proficiency in XHTML5, CSS3, and basic XML.
- Understanding of EPUB folder structure, OPF, Navigation Document (nav.xhtml), metadata, and packaging.
- Experience creating responsive ebook layouts.
- Knowledge of typography and digital publishing standards.
- Ability to manually edit and troubleshoot EPUB files.
