Job Summary
The Service Captain supervises restaurant service staff, ensures smooth daily operations, delivers excellent customer service, and helps maintain high standards of food and beverage service.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Supervision
- Lead and supervise waiters, stewards, and service staff.
- Allocate tables and service sections to team members.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings.
- Train new staff on service standards and SOPs.
- Monitor staff grooming, punctuality, and performance.
Guest Service
- Welcome and assist guests.
- Handle guest requests and special requirements.
- Resolve customer complaints professionally.
- Ensure guests receive prompt and courteous service.
- Build strong customer relationships to encourage repeat visits.
Restaurant Operations
- Ensure tables are properly set before service.
- Coordinate with kitchen and cashier for smooth operations.
- Monitor food quality and presentation before serving.
- Ensure cleanliness of dining areas.
- Assist during peak hours when required.
Sales & Revenue
- Promote specials, combos, and new menu items.
- Upsell food and beverages.
- Help achieve restaurant sales targets.
Inventory & Compliance
- Monitor service equipment and supplies.
- Report shortages or damages.
- Follow hygiene, food safety, and restaurant policies.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in restaurant service.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to handle customer complaints effectively.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and POS systems.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and shifts.
