Academic Leadership
- Plan, implement, and monitor the Early Years curriculum in alignment with the school's educational philosophy and statutory requirements.
- Ensure effective lesson planning, classroom delivery, and age-appropriate learning experiences.
- Guide teachers in implementing activity-based, inquiry-driven, and play-based learning methodologies.
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
- Develop academic calendars, assessment schedules, and curriculum plans.
- Monitor student progress and ensure timely documentation of learning outcomes.
Teacher Management
- Mentor, coach, and support Early Years teachers and teaching assistants.
- Conduct regular departmental meetings and professional development sessions.
- Assist in teacher induction, performance evaluation, and classroom management.
- Promote collaboration and best teaching practices within the department.
- Identify training needs and recommend professional development opportunities.
Student Development
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Monitor students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Coordinate intervention plans for students requiring additional support.
- Ensure implementation of child protection and safeguarding practices.
Parent Engagement
- Build strong relationships with parents through regular communication.
- Conduct orientation programmes, parent meetings, workshops, and student-led events.
- Address parent concerns professionally and ensure timely resolution.
- Support the admissions team during parent interactions and school orientations.
Curriculum & Assessment
- Ensure continuous assessment practices are implemented effectively.
- Maintain student portfolios and developmental records.
- Monitor curriculum coverage and quality standards.
- Introduce innovative teaching resources and learning strategies.
School Operations
- Coordinate daily functioning of the Early Years section.
- Prepare timetables, substitution plans, and activity schedules.
- Ensure classrooms are well-equipped, safe, and child-friendly.
- Coordinate school events, celebrations, field trips, exhibitions, and assemblies.
- Maintain departmental documentation and reports.
