Key Responsibilities
OPD Responsibilities- Examine and assess patients attending OPD
.- Take detailed medical history and perform clinical examination.
- Diagnose and manage common medical conditions.
- Prescribe appropriate medicines, investigations and follow-up.
- Interpret routine laboratory and diagnostic reports.
- Provide counselling regarding treatment, diet, lifestyle and follow-up.
- Identify patients requiring specialist consultation or admission.
IPD Responsibilities- Assess patients admitted to the hospital and formulate treatment plans.
- Conduct regular ward rounds and monitor patient progress.
- Review vital signs, investigation reports and clinical condition.
- Modify treatment according to the patient's clinical response.
-Maintain accurate patient case sheets, progress notes and treatment records.
- Coordinate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Identify deterioration early and arrange appropriate escalation/referral.
Emergency Responsibilities- Attend emergency patients promptly and perform initial assessment.
- Manage common medical emergencies within the doctor's competence.- Stabilize critically ill patients and initiate appropriate emergency treatment.
- Handle emergencies such as acute breathing difficulty, chest pain, seizures, severe infections, trauma and other urgent presentations according to hospital protocols.
- Coordinate investigations and specialist referral when required.- Maintain proper emergency documentation.
Other Hospital Duties- Participate in daily clinical rounds and handovers.
- Review investigation reports and communicate significant findings to patients/attendants
.- Coordinate with consultants, nurses, laboratory, pharmacy and other departments.
- Prepare discharge summaries and referral notes.
- Maintain proper medical documentation and records.- Follow hospital infection-control, patient
-safety and clinical protocols
.- Participate in clinical meetings and quality-improvement activities
.- Provide medical advice to patients and attendants in a professional manner.
- Perform other reasonable clinical duties assigned by hospital management.
Candidate Requirements- MBBS degree from a recognized institution.- Valid registration with the State Medical Council/ NMC, as applicable.
- Previous hospital/clinical experience preferred.
- Experience in OPD, IPD and emergency care preferred.- Good clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Good communication and patient-handling skills
- Ability to work independently while appropriately consulting senior/specialist doctors.
- Willingness to work shifts/emergency duties as required.
