Job Summary
Vastucraft Architect & Construction is looking for a practical, responsible, and technically sound Site Engineer – Civil to manage day-to-day construction activities at project sites.
The candidate will be responsible for execution, supervision, quality control, quantity checking, contractor coordination, progress monitoring, and ensuring that all works are carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and project timelines.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in RCC, brickwork, plastering, waterproofing, flooring, finishing works, and overall building construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day civil construction activities at site.
- Execute work strictly as per approved architectural, structural, and GFC drawings.
- Check reinforcement, shuttering, levels, dimensions, and alignment before concrete casting.
- Supervise RCC works including footing, pile cap, raft, columns, beams, slabs, staircases, and retaining structures.
- Monitor brickwork, blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, flooring, tiling, painting, and finishing works.
- Check quality of materials received at site including cement, steel, aggregates, bricks, blocks, concrete, and finishing materials.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, supervisors, vendors, architects, structural engineers, and MEP teams.
- Prepare daily site progress reports and maintain proper site records.
- Monitor manpower, material consumption, and daily productivity.
- Verify quantities executed by contractors and assist in checking contractor bills.
- Prepare material requirements and ensure timely availability of construction materials.
- Monitor concrete pouring activities, slump testing, cube testing, and curing.
- Ensure proper workmanship and quality control at every stage of construction.
- Identify drawing discrepancies and coordinate with the design team for clarification.
- Ensure work is completed as per project schedule and approved specifications.
- Maintain site safety standards and ensure proper use of PPE.
- Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates to project management.
- Coordinate inspections and approvals before proceeding with subsequent activities.
- Minimize material wastage and maintain proper housekeeping at site.
- Assist in preparing BOQ, measurements, quantity reconciliation, and billing documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 2–5 years of relevant building construction experience.
- Good knowledge of RCC and finishing works.
- Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Good knowledge of construction procedures, materials, and quality standards.
- Basic knowledge of IS codes and standard construction practices.
Technical Skills
Candidate should have working knowledge of:
- AutoCAD
- MS Excel
- MS Word
- Quantity calculation and measurement
- BOQ and billing
- Bar Bending Schedule (BBS)
- Concrete quality control
- Site documentation and reporting
Knowledge of project management software or mobile-based site management tools will be an added advantage.
Preferred Experience
Preference will be given to candidates having experience in:
- Residential and commercial building construction
- Multi-storey RCC buildings
- Foundation and structural works
- Finishing and handover activities
- Contractor and labour management
- Quantity estimation and billing
- Quality assurance and quality control
- Client and consultant coordination
